Was that, by any chance, the Casa Chile place in the Cajon del Maipo?

I was about to ask if you've seen any of the traffic from the Dakar
Rally stages then checked the coordinates you posted earlier for Google
Earth and realised you're way down South and they're way up North.

It's been working it's way down the coast of Chile this week.

The truck action on yesterday's live show was amazing. Absolute
    nutters.

It's a shame Eurosport are still completely incapable of sticking to
schedules though, or putting a message on the screen saying how late
they're running. Carlton Kirby kept mentioning all the complaints about
it on yesterday's live show, yet the highlights later on were still 15
    minutes late.

I'd get the quality of the grapes assessed first unless you either plan
to make cheap Balsamico or rent it out to someone who does. The plants
might be past their prime, suffer from any sort of weird disease, too
young, wrong grape for the soil or a myriad of other issues.

Then get some local-ish expert assess what you can rent it out for, see
if that makes sense financially. I wouldn't want to do it myself as
growing decent grapes is a little bit of an art form.

If it checks out I actually like the idea if it works as a second,
passive income stream for you to bolster retirement. Plus you probably
get a couple of decent bottles out it the deal, too.

  15. We are going to do just that. Fortunately, i know SWK, and then some.
Having dinner with him and his missus (who owns one of Chile's premier
    vineyards) tomorrow night.

Questions to be asked will include the economics of renting out the
vineyard, the economics of hiring expertise, the whereabouts and source
of such expertise, nd other like things.

We've also just seen a 5.5ha plot that at present is basically
unplanted, and has no house on it, which offers the option of starting
    completely from scratch. Tough choices.

Whn I was very very young, my parents worked a dairy/banana farm
for Italian immigrants. I very hazily remember (aged about three) helping
them tread grapes in a large barrel. What I don't remember, but my father
later told me, was that after the wine had fermented they started
distilling it into grappa. After each pass through the still they'd
sample a glass; when they could no longer stand up, it had had enough
    passes through the still...

That's a dinky toy, not a fucking tractor.

My Dad always said "You can do anything with a small machine that you
can do with a large one. It just takes
    longer."

Now small TOOLS are another story
