Not a single bid nor question (save for Gyp's pointing out a typo) about
the Sprint (ebay item id 170350667622).

OK I couldn't spot where to "supersize" the pictures but seriously, it
was an honest (maybe too honest?) description of a relatively low
mileage bike, I had been offered 2k over the phone by a trader who would
have simply come and taken it away in his van so reckoned a 1995 start
price was in the right area.

You say it's got a twisted footrest, but don't say why. <sucks teeth>
twisted footrest guv? That'll mean a bent frame.

It's also leaking coolant, so obviously has a failing head gasket.

Or to put it another way, get a new expansion tank cap so that's fixed
& you don't have to mention it. And get a new footrest so that's fixed
& you don't have to mention it.

Traders often offer decent prices over the phone, and then when they
see the bike you get: "Oh, it's not as nice as I thought it was..."
and you get a much reduced offer. They count on you accepting it. So I
wouldn't worry about losing that one.

Try offering it at a grand and no reserve. My own feeling is that
    £1600-1700 is ballpark.

This trader had already offered via the BMW garage when I test rode the
first K12 based on the BMW garage description - the salesman at BMW
simply forwarded the guy's details to me and I contacted him directly
    after that.
    Ouch.

Fair point. Actually it happened when the deer attacked me - it was the
force of the deer on my leg/boot -> footrest which caused the twist. A
miracle that I didn't come off really.
Now looking at it from that perspective, makes sense.
<mutter grumble wish i'd just traded it in>

I'll give you 500 quid for it to save you the hassle.

I still bet he'd have bid you lower once he arrived.

    Lozzo?

They're really nice bikes, those, but they are worth close to zilch
second-hand, for some reason. I found myself saddled with one a year
or two ago. Book price quoted by Glass's was ludicrously optimistic. I
should have gone with my gut feeling.

Suzuki GSX750, faired or unfaired. A couple of Ducatis - ST2 springs
to mind. Probably my 750SS as well, now. Kawasaki ZZR600.....

And it's also got a a short MOT - I'd think it'll gather more interest
with an MOT that stretches further than 2 1/2 months.
