In our house the rule has always been that if Owen needs the car due
to lack of bike or very bad weather/road conditions, he could have the
car. I can get to work without a car as it's only 2 miles. However, we
will now be looking after a baby overnight on a regular basis who
needs to be collected and delivered to a daytime childminder by car.
So sometimes we both need a car. We are therefore in the market for a
SOC. Anyone got anything? Must be:

    Cheap
Tiny (got to fit in front patch)
    Reliable (ish)
    Nearish to Reading, Berks
    Cheap

Diesel is good. In fact, if there's an old diesel Pug 205 out there,
Owen still misses his old one (G61NAV where are you now?) so that
would be ideal, but anything would do.

Fits the cheap, small, reliable and cheap criteria, depends on what you

    Hmm, not very near.
Well, Owen has been back on the BMW today and he feels he can manage
this winter OK. On the other hand, if yours is cheap enough ... I'm
not really up to making an offer as I have no idea what it's worth.
Most of my cars have been red, even though I really don't care about
    the colour.

Volvo 340DL. E reg with 80K only. 2 owners from new and perfect
interior and no rust. About 10 months MOT left on it and 4 months tax.
Had it 6 years and it has passed the MOT first time every time.
Throw in a Haynes manual (not that it has ever needed it!)
Yours (or any other UKRMer!) for £250
    Guildford area.

That's a result for you, a 250 quid profit on a car over 6 years.
