The SOCavalier was nicked from outside the house on Thursday night.
First i knew of it was when the police woke me up at 4-15am, to tell me they
had arrested a 25 year old male for speeding and failing to stop for the
    police.
I went to recover the car (which was up a dirt path, where the scrote had
    jumped out)
police said it was only ignition damage, but when i set off, the car was
    rattling like a good un.
Oil light came on whilst driving it home, so stopped the car and checked the
oil (hardly anything in it), topped it up only to find oil light on again.
Took it dead steady for the last mile or so home and made further
    investigations once home.
looked under the car and there is a bloody big fscking crack in the sump.

it is not worth repairing, and not worth an insurance claim, as it is just a
shit old cavalier valued at £400 with a £100 excess. The problem i have is
that my shit old cavalier had a lovely towbar fitted, which attaches to my
caravan, which our family were supposed to be going on holiday in next week.
so has anyone got a cheap (sub £500) SOC above 1800cc and heavy with a
    towbar and electrics fitted?
I would even sacrifice the XJ900 and get a bike later in the year if it
allows the family to not miss out on their holiday.

    Thanks

    Dave

Can't do one with the towbar fitted, but I have a cheap Nissan Primera
    for sale.

Should be able to get a 'bar fitted by a mobile fitter (cost was
£100-ish when I looked - the Primera is cheap enough to do this and come
    in under budget).

No towbar, but we do have JP's old Volvo 340GL for sale at only £250.
1900 cc, MOT and tax till September, available any time you like in
Reading. It goes fine, we are selling it again because it's too big
    and heavy for us.

I'm so pleased you didn't try to sell the poor man an Italian car. he's
    had enough misfortune recently.

Pip's car is a Renault 21 in surprisingly good condition for age and
milage. Details were posted here on ukrm last week, so do a google
    search and you'll find it.

    2-litre Renault 21GTX, towhitch and twin-socket electrics.

    <paste from original post>

Many of you will have seen my old Renault, as it has been my
four-wheeled transport for the last 3 1/2 years, faithfully carrying
me around the country, frequently with a bike on a trailer in tow. It
has been a good car for me, and has never let me down (apart from the
coil going phut and needng replacement). Surprisingly quick and
comfy, it is big enough to carry all sorts of crap about, yet feels
like a much smaller car on the road.

The last trip computer reading that I took note of told me it had done
~400 miles at an average speed of 62mph with fuel consumption of
36mpg. It has done ~120,000 miles but doesn't look or feel tired apart
from a mysterious knock on the front suspension that has been there
for all the time I've owned it, eluding not only my investigations but
those of MOT testers specifically requested to find it ;-)

Anyway; it has 5 good tyres, new discs and pads and a new exhaust from
the cat backwards. White in colour, scrape along the bottom of the
passenger side and the very occasional rust spot at random intervals.

    It is a 1992 Renault 21 GTX 5-dr hatchback.
PAS, e/w, e/s (doesn't slide all the way) towhitch.
2.0 litre, 5 speed manual, fuel injection.
    MOT September, tax July.

Located 10 minutes from Junction 12 of the M1 in leafy Bedfordshire.
Test drives and demos not a problem, delivery can be arranged.

    400 quid. Bargain.

email me on pip at garagepixies dot co dot uk if interested.

    No, you fuckwit.

The red one is not mine. The red one is not French - it's a Vauxhall
and not only that, it's a saloon, not a fucking hatchback.

    That's Loz's lovely Belmont, innit?
