    Hi all,

Well, having spent two years on my VF1000 F-II Bol D'Or - she's nearly
    finished!

To all that have helped with abouse/advice (and even a Honda manual - thanks
    Trev) - ta very much!

Now - where did I put that RG500?

  2. ******, that's nice. Did I tell you I rode one of those, way back in the
1980s? It impressed me even then.

    Like the Duke, too.

OK - what did the job cost? No, don't answer that.

    And blimey, that's very nice.

Open wallet surgery... Now for some strange reason that does ring a
    bell...
    Checked behind the sofa?

    Hiya TOG )
Looks luverly in the sunshine - just bear in mind at this stage it hasn't
been a full nut and bolt resto - and there' still a little surface rust/grot
in some of the more tucked away corners of the bike - but it has cleaned up
    rather well...
    even then.

It's a lovely mile mucher - actually handles OK as well - in a lazy, very
    stable, kind of way.

I think you said something along the lines of - well if you *must* buy one
of those things, the Bol is prolly the best...
Yeah - need to figure out fitting the new cam belts now ;o)
Well, you started, so I'll finish...

I *suspect* it owes me around £2k in parts and paint - plus the purchase
price of £1300 - so prolly makes absolutely no sense whatsoever - but I'm
    happy!)

Anyway - I blame you lot and rags like Classic Motorcycle Mechanics for
feeding the habit - but as someone who works with computers and this
Interweb thingy all day - fixing up old bikes is bl**dy theraputic!

Thanks Timo - positive feedback kinda makes the effort and expense a little
    less painfull! ;o)
Thought it would! Actually - as a Lotus owner (Esprit ansd Elise) bike
restoration is a little less painful!
Well - it *was* a thought - wife would kill me!

I did score on a brand new RG500 top fairing on eBay - collected today from
a nice bloke in Weybridge - been sat in it's box undisturbed for the past 20
years! He threw in a load of shiny fixings and brackets that again, were as
good as the day they left the factory - so the list of bitz needed for the
    RG is getting less...

Anyone have a single seat unit they want to flog?

Guess why I can't stop myself from buying all these crap^Wproject
bikes? It does help after days of either shouting at the computer or
    some hapless cow-orker.

Heh, doesn't it just. That's why we've got his mutual appreciation
    society going here.
Heh. I've *just* sailed past that. In fact, I'd still like an Eclipse
or similar, but then I went and bought a house instead. Didn't do much
    for my finances, that move.

    IIRC you are Oxford based.

We gonna see any of your fleet on a 'FOT anytime soon then?

    Hiya Dan,

Not quite Oxford - but in that general area...

    Hmmm....

I can remember threatening to come on a BOTAFOT about 6 years ago when I
lived in Aylesbury - so prolly about time I extracted a digit...

So, er, yuss - one day )

    Hmmm...

Wonder if we can persuade the NHS to fund us on prescription?
