    Commiserations.

Betting on the national is a mug's game anyway. Any horse can fall or be
taken down by another faller. You might as well pull a name out of a hat
then give a fiver to a stranger in the street.

  5. Quite. All mine failed to make it and I think one - Hear the Echo - may
have croaked. Not a good result.

It's the one event a year I do bang a few quid on. Mainly
because we all gather in the pub every year to watch it.

This year, I are mostly not celebrating.

Put a fiver each way on Himmalayan Trail and
    Rambling minster. :-(

Still, on the up side I have necked about five
    pints of town crier :)

Who was it who had a 100% record of backing horses that ended up getting
    shot?

No idea on here but we banned my mother from betting as this happened
to anything she chose for Cheltenham or the National. After a few
years of this her staff used to ask who she was picking and no one
    would bet on that horse.

  11. The Doctor backed one that croaked on the course, many moons ago. Seems
I've now joined that dubious club: I've been told mine died as well. :-(
