    Bingo!!!

Yes, despite all the kidding, the reality is it's 75-90 deg F on avg for the
greater part of the hot season that runs from as early as mid April to as
late as mid October. We have, on average, 2-4 hot spells over that 6-7
month period that typically run high 90s to mid 100s, each lasting about 3-7
days. Humidity is so rare here that locals would probably go belly up in a
typical San Antonio August morning. All in all, living in Livermore is
better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick and/or living OUT of the
SFBA. Hey! ...I'm still here and I have property in Co. I have to stay
here to make sure the Pacific Ocean doesn't get moved. ;)

I think Lyle Lovett may have played a series in Livermore, though.

from an article about smog in today's Contra Costa Times

"In Livermore, the Bay Area's smog capital, ozone peaked at an average of 60
parts per billion on weekends and 53 ppb on weekdays from 1998 to 2003."

The Ocean's stable enough; it's the Pacific PLATE that you have to
    worry about.

That's only during the BA's 2-4 seasonal heatwaves. When the marine layer
is in, which is most of the time, the Livermore valley is a freakin'
windtunnel with all the smog blowing over to the Central Valley. They've
been bitching about it for years. Besides, when Livermore's smog is high,
so is the BA's. Many's the time I've rolled down into the BA proper off the
Sunol grade and seen the air layer the color of amber. What Livermore is
choking on is the BA's smog.

Hey, in a few million years the Dodgers and Giants will be cross-town
    rivals again.

i'm going to miss Austin a lot. if they could install mountains, better
roads and a decent ocean, it'd be perfect. otherwise, i wouldn't change
    a thing.
