  1. .... was daft enough to buy a bike from Ft Lauderdale in the Good Ol'
    USA. Just in theory, like.

How would that person go about getting that bike back to England?

    Just out of curiosity.

(Actually, I haven't bought it yet, But I'd like to. And no, it's not a
    fucking Harley.)

Initially, I suspect that one would need to speak to a shipping agent
to get an idea of costs.

I can put you in touch with the guy I'm currently dealing with, to get
my stuff back to the UK, if you like. I would imagine that, in the
worst case, he could point you in the right direction.

    Ft Lauderdale, eh?

You do know that Florida is rather humid and generally has a climate
that's very helpful in turning iron into iron oxide?
Get it to one of the big ports on the East Coast and chuck it at the
    next ship leaving for England?
    Yeah, right.
    Another unspeakably big tourer?

A chap I spoke to about this type of affair informed me that if the bike
was not a "runner" per se then certain duties or taxes relating to
importing a vehicle could be avoided as what you were doing in essence
was importing a lump of metal.

However as with all things I could be wrong.

    fucking Harley.)

    Nigella,

    Oh yes you have.

You've gone and bought a fully chromed up Harley Gayboy haven't you, and
intend to put Suzuki Anal Intruder badges on it before anyone sees it?

No need to worry about it, Miss, you secret is safe with UKRM ;-)

I've seen a few bikes advertised by US dealers on eBay that ship
overseas and have links to the shipping agent on their eBay pages

    Something like this maybe:-

Oh no I haven't. It was another Voyager that was cheap enough to
consider as a parts bin. But a sober reflection on the description
worried me enough that I've decided against it.
