    Seemed an appropriate opening remark when pulled this morning.
    That was him out of his stride and smiling, he forgot about the speeding
    at the end of the roadworks (I was in fuckwitt mode and opened up from
    40 -> 55 before I should , when I knew he was behind me :=} ) and went on
    about my Mway lane manouvers.

    I must admit, he seemed on a different planet from me[1]

    "When you cut from lane 3 to 1 you caused the car in lane 2 to brake"
    <metaphorical head scratch>
    (To Self) "eh? it was a van..."
    </mhs>

    "And then were too close to the car in front and had to put your feet down
    to stop"

    <more metaphorical head scratching>
    (Again to self) "eh? I stopped, then stood up to what the traffic was
    stationary for and see if a filter was worthwhile"
    </mmhs>

    Plod - "Had you licence long sir ?"
    Me - "Yes 20 odd years"
    Plod - "ridden all that time?"
    Me (holding back any sarcsm) - "yes"

    I then had to withstand a a lecture on stopping distances (becasue it was
    sooo long since my test... )

    Tooks a producer and went on my way ... ho hum

    Best bit was the
    "Pull over when safe to do so" from his tannoy system :)

    [1] But then isn't everyone.

    I trust you cut to the hard shoulder and performed a textbook stoppie,
    leaving him to reverse about 150 yards back to you?

    Why having someone up your arse means you have to be up the arse of
    the guy in front.
