So near, yet so far

    I very occasionally go down SS road on the way home - /very/ /very/
    rarely (as in, I can't remember the last time I did) go in to work
    that way, having found a sneaky
    cross-the-footpath-through-some-bollards shortcut that makes Green
    Lanes the whole way from West Green to Newington Green the best option
    by far in the mornings.
    I'm a good deal quicker through traffic on the BMW, not being nearly
    so concerned about casual collisions with other traffic...

    I did it a few times on the R30, with no problems - I *nearly* dropped
    the R1150GS 1/2 way across, mind...
