My first time riding through the snow. Took it slow and steady, and was
    fine. Quite enjoyed it. :)

Having seen what the roads are like now (solid ice everywhere), I don't
think I'll be on the bike tomorrow. :(

**** 'em if they can't take a joke. It is always useful having a hard
hat in the car, for occasions just like this. Or a how water bottle -
then you can recover the heat ...
    He's a good old boy ;-)
Damn right - it's going to be just as bad, if not worse tomorrow
morning. I think you qualify for a cuppa in bed and a chilled (haha)
    day off.

In fact, having considered the situation, that you are posting and
have a .sig, I find you worthy of a Don't **** With A Ginge number.

Kindly append DFWAG#6 to your .sig in future, if you care so to do.

Sir should note the insertion (yes, yes, already) of the word "With"
    at this point.

    Thank you and goodnight.

Took me an hour from London to Hove.

    But that was by train.

Yeah, I'm going to work today.

But I'm plotting bloody revolution so there maybe some exemption clause
    for me.

Yes, but other countries do seem to manage much much worse weather without
    the drama that we have
every time a small amount of snow falls out the sky.

And.. .it stopped snowing where I was yesterday at about 6pm.
    It has not snowed again.

Yet there is still no sign of any attempts at de-icing anything. A cursory
glance out the window (Holborn, central London - main road) shows that the
    pavements are solid ice.

    How do you know?

Anyway, you know what I meant - married birds do give BJs, just not
to the bloke they're married to. [1]

    [1] Yes, yes, Nigel, I know it's a myth

That's because people who live in places with regular snow know how to
drive in snow, have snow tyres and/or chains, have cars with correct
anti-freeze in rad and screen wash, good batteries, etc etc.

In the French alps, for example, the authorities designate roads that
they will keep open, with usually a time period (e.g. 4 hours) after
the snowfall. But for the sprinkling we got yesterday, they wouldn't
even bother firing up the ploughs. The main problem here is that
everyone crawls around at 5mph, a few idiots will drive into each
other and a few others break down cos their cars aren't winter
    prepped.

    Champ said...
I asked her before I started seeing her. I said "Do you know a bloke
called Neal who acts a bit flouncy and spells his name funny?" and she
    said yes.

But it couldn't have been you cos she said he was good looking,
affectionate and an all round good guy :)

Although it has to be said there are a fair few fuckwits round here
too, who will insist on driving their summer-tyre-shod GTis[1] at
stupidly low speeds. Still, all the more fun overtaking them, eh?

[1] Was quite fun trying to get ours[2] up the drive on Monday, mind,
when I hadn't expected the 10cm or so that fell. I was quite tempted
to just tow it up with the volvo, but that would have involved
dragging Jude away from the kitchen, and I were reet 'ungry, like. So
shovel and sand/grit were employed instead.
[2] OK, so it's[3] not _technically_ a GTi.

  18. took me an hour and a half to get three stops up the fecking line this
morning so don't get all righteous about fecking trains.

I gave up trying to get into the office, picked the car up from Luton
and am now working from home. The queue south was standing traffic all
    the way across town.
