It took me 3 1/4 hours to travel the 25 miles home in the Transit this
evening. The roads round here were a bit interesting, including one
section where I made it 3/4 of the way up a hill only to slide down it
backwards with the wheels spinning forwards in 3rd gear. Bearing in mind
I had a 1400kg load in the back that's quite impressive.

Do you think I'd be unwise to drive from Derbyshire to Middlesex
tomorrow to make a 10AM meeting?

Pah I took an hour to get to Harlow station and back.

Big respect to the the two bandit riders I saw though

Well, I suppose the Scots are too pissed to notice it anyway ;-)

Came down good in Nuneaton - I left work and took 2 fecking hours to
reach the M6. Once there it was OK for the rest of the trip home. Even
the lanes through Addington and Ringstead Hill were OK.

Woe-betide any of my staff who try the 'snow' card to justify a day off
    tomorrow!

    Quite impressive indeed.

My journey was incident free bu took 3 3/4 hours for 22 miles.
1 1/4 for the last 20 miles wasn't too bad considering the
conditions - it was the 2 1/2 hours to do the first two miles
that was a tad frsutrating :eek:/

Interestingly, between Jcts 25 & 24 on the M25, the janitors were
moving 'blocks' of traffic along using a rolling roadblock.

No fucking grit anywhere in London! 2 hours to get home from C London
to Crystal Palace, mostly as roads blocked by slow traffic on sheet
ice and tail backs where cars and buses etc couldn't get up the
hills... saw a few bikes struggling on Denmark Hill.

Slogged along on the DR-Z though and no drama - just difficult getting
down the steep hill on the southern side of the Crystal Palace
    ridge...

I've already played the snow card. Gonna freeze tonight, no way we're
    going out.

What if they decide not to come in because your dress sense offends
    them?

I'm putting the Great into Great Britain by deciding that it's not
sensible driving for 7 or so hours to attend a 2 hour meeting when I can
as easily dial in to it.

    Great!

Based on how people dress in Nuneaton - that's quite likely. I don't
    own a shell-suit, or a pony tail.

Couldn't move for all the pony-tails in Nuneaton on Saturday.

Perhaps my sample was biased as I was browsing the prog rock
section of the second-hand record shoppe.
