    Or possibly a 4th
    * Honda speedos are more accurate than Suzuki ones

Urk, In a 10 lap race you'd lap me umm, twice
I can /sort/ of see how you do that kind of lap times, but how the ****
the BSBs boys manage to get round in 1:05-1:06 is frankly beyond me.

  4. Hang on, that's Champ saying something good about Hondas.

My world is turning upside down...

Ooh quite possibly, but doesn't that put you in a pickle as it almost sounds
    like you're complimenting a Honda...

Yes, I'm passing on the info, not questioning it.

I had about the same straight line performance as the focused events
GSXR600's and the fastest I saw down the back straight was a tad over 140
just before outbraking an MV 750 :) usually it was about 135.

TBH not many people get that bit right. The only time I did I was
following someone who was kind enough to show me the best lines. It's
the only time I ever broke into 1:18s lap time on my old race bike.
    It's a bugger.

well, given that I was leaving 600s of various types for dead on the
    straight, either:

    Dan's a biking god
    Dan's 600 is "special"
Dan's speedo is overreading by 10% or so

    take your pick.

he was going faster than me, that's for certain.

I still suspect Suzuki speedos overread more than Honda ones, though.

We still haven't addressed the issue of why my 'blade would accelerate
faster than Mups' CBR1000 and yours wouldn't...

Make no mistake Champ's fast but the BSB boys and a lot of of club
    racers are really very quick.

Wibble flip. This is the first trackday I've done (successfully) in the dry
with the Blade so I'll see what happens next time when my confidence is
higher. Might be as simple as slow corner exit speed. I've got some mods to
do anyway asap, or maybe I'll get a new bike. I'm not that comfortable with
it anway. I always wanted a Fireblade and now I have one I don't really like
    it that much.

If anyone does want a cheap, slightly scratched Honda and wants to push me
    into getting a new bike....

buying a different bike is the cheapest way to get a faster bike.
funny you should mention that. I do actually like mine, but I'm not at
all sure I want to keep it.

Both you and Dr Will are mistaken if you consider that a compliment

  17. Claire's ZXR400 is up for sale, but not until August/September time.
Meant to be very good on the track...

    Er...is it?

Well I got the blade cos I couldn't get insurance on the other litre sports.
A year later, I can. Plus the Honda is so fookin uncomfortable compared to
the R1 and Gixxer that I don't relish any long distance work on it. And
    I've never had a Yamaha.....
    Why?

  20. Would you consider "your speedo isn't very accurate" to be compliment
    instead?
