Well in that case, you've got no excuse not to be at Donington on the
    5th September.

Next time I'm going to give you a head start.
I **OWN** that road, it's part of my warwick commute. Skip past
Melbourne and take the straight on road that's a round-about route to
    Ashby.. Twisty a go go.
    Ashby - Swadlincote - Linton - Rosliston - Walton - Barton - Rangemore -
Tutbury - Home makes a really good loop too.

Now, bit of a vague question , but any idea if it's still £10 to get in?

150 miles each way according to the AA for me. Now in theory a VFR should be
great for that sort of thing.

You will have to pay to get in, and that's probably what it costs.
    Everybody says so.

Yes... Well my hand had gone to sleep after 70 miles the other day - but
that's possibly because I'm still finding the throttle/transmission reaction
a bit sharp and holding on too tight.

According to the website it is. Unless you can convince them you are
    under 15.

    All of them? *ALL*?

That could be difficult - not to say messy.

Shouldn't be a problem for Dan.

Just tell the nice man on the gate that you came on the back of your
    Dad's bike, Dan.

Why would you go anywhere near the A14? A52, A17, A134 would appear to be
    the simplest route from Nottingham.

So why not have a hoon over to Snetterton, watch a bit of racing then have
    a hoon back again?

I'm thinking about it (from Berkshire, mind) as both darsy and Kenyon
have wussed on Sunday's gig and I can't be arsed going on my tod.

Depends on a) the weather, b) me being arsed, mind.

What's the entry fee this year?

Because I wouldn't want to distract Mr Champion from the job in hand.

As with much of my life I'll decide what I'm doing on the day. 300
mile round trip on boring roads or 100 mile hoon on roads I know.
    Decisions, decisions.

Er.. (thinks compasses) sort of - TBH haven't worked out the route though
last time I did M4 - M25 - M1 for the first bit then interesting roads after
    that.

I still haven't decided either - flog my dead horse but at 300 miles, it's
about £20 - which I could put towards other things - then there is the £10
at the door.... so looking at £30.

(BTW, me on the VFR is slower than me on the GSX-R - at least for the sharp
    bends.)

I'd avoid the M25/M11 route like the plague - Porl and I did it a
couple of years ago and it was the most tedious hour and a half I've
spent in Porl's company ever (and that's saying something!) ;)
Sure, you could put the 30 quid towards other things. And if you were
thinking of spending it on other things, I'm sure you'd realise you
could spend it on other other things. JUSTFUCKINGDOIT.

I think I've been about 4/5 times since then. You get used to it. (The route
    not my company)

From an interest point of view - absolutely - it's dire. From a
time-to-cover-distance-to-not-miss-the-f'ing-start point of view it wins
    hands down :)
It (and I) do corners fine - it's just really slow ones that are a bit hit
and miss (avoided the hit so far).

Mail me your mobile number and I'll let you know later what I'm doing.

If you're both going then I may tag along. Particularly if you're doing more
    interesting routes.
