If I tell you that they'll probably have a "Southern Railways" logo on
them, you may be able to guess the source...

Nah. That was Simon giving it a good firm managerial talking-to.

    It seemed to work.

I think you'll find he's just cored out a bogy and is about to deploy it as
a form of scratch cover on a flaw in the green paint on the tank.

If the caravan's down this end of the country, I could haul it up with the
Fuglypla - unless Hog's got a towbar on the 911...

"So let me get this straight you want £3000 in sponsorship for a venture
that you're the only employee involved with, it's not based in Sussex or
Surrey, it's got nothing to do with our business values or customers, it
isn't a charidee, won't receive any publicity outside very specialist
magazines, it's a marginal interest anyway and you were unspeakably rude
to me last time we met?"

"It's 24 hours but that's about the gist of it"

"I may be able to get you some overalls"

  10. I have NEVER known of Belzona not to set up when properly mixed and
    applied.
    Belzona E-Metal mix 1:1
    Belzona Super E-Metal mix 1:1
Belzona Super Metal mix is 3:1 ( 3 parts base to 1 part solidifier )
    Mix until streak free.
The surface should be degreased with a degreaser which will not leave
    any residue.
Roughen the surface with at least 80 grit.
Follow the set time in the instruction sheet.
Remember, the Belzona metals cure by heat.
The warmer the temperature, the quicker the cure.
5 degree C (41F) is the minimum recommended temperature of the surface.

    Well, you do know.
The problem was we were fixing a leak in a petrol tank. Pretty much
impossible to remove all traces of petrol from the cracks.
Don't think we had an instruction sheet, either.
It wasn't warm, but it was well about 5 deg. We even put it in the
    sun.

What should the set time be?

    Champ, Apr 8, 2005
  12. I have fixed many leaking diesel and gasoline tanks with great success.
Mix up some Belzona E-Metal. When the material is beginning to get a
little stiff, push it in the hole or crack. Next. Degrease the area
with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone). Roughen the area with 80 grit paper.
Degrease again. Apply a very thin coat of Belzona Super Metal.
Impregnate a piece of Belzona reinforcement cloth (mesh) with Belzona
Super Metal and apply to the tank. Let it cure as directed in the
    instruction sheet.
You can speed up the cure time by increasing the temperature to about
    120 deg. F.
You must remember, it is not the air temperature but the temperature of
    the surface that counts.

The working life for Belzona Super Metal is 35 minutes @ 5C/41F, 25
    min.@ 15C/59F, 15 min.@ 25C/ 77F.

    Cure times:
    Full Mechanical or thermal loading:
    41F/5C 4 days, 50F/10C 2 days, 59F/15C
    1-1/2days, 68F/20C 2days, 77F/25C 20 Hours, 86F/30C 1day. These times
are for a thickness of approximately 0.25 inch (6mm); they will be
reduced for thicker sections and extended for thinner sections.

    EFFECTING THE SECONDARY MOLECULAR REACTION
The mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance of
Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) will be improved by post curing.
After 2-4 hours of applying Belzona 1111 (Super Metal), post cure the
material using forced air heaters, heat lamps, etc. for a minimum of 4
    hours at 140-212F/60-100C.
Generally, the higher the post cure temperature adopted, the higher the
    properties attained.

    [snip]

about 15% of the posts you make to Usenet mention this stuff.

Either you're a huge fan, or some sort of spamming ****.

    Care to clue us in?
