    Anyone doing Snetterton today from near my neck of the woods?

    I was stuck at home until 1pm hoping desperately for a confirmation
    email to arrive (it did, so i definitely won't be doing the snet
    24hr race.) Then cleaned the bike (absolutely filthy after the
    Cornwall run, dust several mil thick on the wheel rims) and went for
    a spin. Amazing what a difference a well adjusted chain makes.

    They'd dropped to about 18th, and 3rd in class at 4 hours, but I left soon
    after that. All of the time was lost in the pits due to a slow stop when the
    chain had to be sorted to stop it jumping on the sprocket.

    They had finished when I left.

    They got into the points about an hour from the end only to have it
    cruelly snatched away by thoughtless faster riders overtaking them, in
    the last 15 laps. Quite a gripping finish as it goes.

    It was that. I won't steal the riders' thunder too much, but I will say
    that our departure from the circuit was slightly delayed by the need to
    attend the trophy presentation...

    <Great Big Shit Eating Grin>

    I am *fucked*, Christ knows what the rider-types must be feeling like.
    Couple of pints, bath and bed for me, I think.

    *Top* weekend, thanks everyone!

    <oft quoted story>

    One of my all time favourite Shobba cartoons features a woman sat on
    the sofa talking on the phone, while her fella is passed out on the
    carpet in front of her, surrounded by empty beer cans and with the
    contents of a tin of beans up-ended over his face. Her speech bubble
    says "Well, when he says he's in training for the Bol D'Or, it's not
    quite as impressive as it sounds".

    Mo, I don't know why.

    Oh, and another contender for the bike/scenery photo.

    Same problem as above.
