Just completed a 4,000K+ ride 2-up on the bird which included the Gt. Ocean
Rd & my first glimpse of Victorian policing methods.
On a steep downhill run into an 80K section I spied a Derelict 4WD well back
off the road among the bushes with a cop armed with a radar gun crouched
    down on the back seat.
No...he didn't get me as we were sight-seeing, but with this approach, icy
winds & lousy road sign-posting we won't be returning any day soon.

We don't want your type of woosy "I ride at the speed limit so they
won't catch me" riders here anyhow. :)

I certainly hope so. There're too many bloody slow riders like Grump
admiring the views and holding up traffic and ruining the enjoyment of
    the ride for everyone else.

Hey, don't blame me...it's this group's fault that I was briefly obeying the
speed limit for the first time in my life after reading reports on GOR
policing & Vic's zero tolerance policies.
Hardest part of our trip...ever tried to obey the law on your 'bird??
    mumble...mumble...

The problem with getting all of your information in one place, like
here, is that it is inevitably biased. The only people discussing
policing (yourself included) are those who feel that they have been
wronged in some way. The rest of the population who do not feel that
they have been wronged do not voice an opinion. Your paranoia was
    mostly unwarranted.
    Nah, never tried that.

Well having notched up 25,000K's touring 4 states in less than 12 months on
a bike that I can't behave on, I'm astounded that my points are still intact
    (touch wood).
    Please excuse my lapse.

You win. This year I've only managed 20,000km through 4 states, though
I managed to cross Bass Strait twice, the Vic/NSW border 8 times and the
NSW/Qld border 6 times along the way, south to Hobart and north to 1770.
Plans for 2007 include Cairns and Kings Canyon.

Nah, this is Nev.. ... he just rides his old Blackbird off the end of the
pier in Devonport, and has his new one delivered to Melbourne ...
