Aye, haven't used any prepacked or frozen jobs and I chose one at PH which
minimised the restricted list. Moved from 6 to 9something. Quantities of
alchohol were used as a balancing agent.
I really really want a stuffed crust job though (sob)

How is it going with you?

Make your own. It's very easy to make much nicer pizzas than your
    average PizzaHut or PerfectPizza shite.

Maybe he'd not have been shot if he didn't have such a pretentious faddy
    diet.

  5. Not bad, ta. Getting back into the daily walking (that's spelled with
an 'l', editing fiends) after the accident, half an hour a day helps
keep things under control - not having a bike makes a difference, I'm
naturally a lazy shite and would otherwise ride what would be a 15
minute walk. I still enjoy most of the foods I like; sweet & sour
from the local takeaway once a fortnight, the odd small pizza, even
half a 15p bar of chocolate now and then, that sort of thing. I guess
I'm lucky my diabetes isn't (currently) as severe as it could be. My
diet pre-diagnosis was so bad, I should have had shares in Tate & Lyle
    - now it's still a long way from perfect, but it works for me. Also
being under 14 stone for the first time in about 15 years rocks.

    Platypus :
Heh. Up until recently I was a 'fat all over' kind of shape. Now, after
mucho excercise[1] and lesso beer, I look like I'me wearing a pink
    flotation ring...

Does this mean I'm in more danger because I've lost weight (well, fat),
or is it just the metabolism/body type that's more at risk or what?

    [1] 4-5 hours cycling a week, 20 mins weight training 3 times a week.

The glucose/insulin response to excess carbs lays fat down round the middle
in particular and it's a warning sign for heart disease and colestorol
imbalance. It also makes you much more prone to developing diabetes over 40,
even if you don't have some accident! Technically it is Insulin resistance.
This fat ring won't happen to everyone though as there is some genetic
    element.
If you are fat overall then it's a sign (obviously) that one has been
scramming waaaay too many calories overall and that raises different issues
as well as (possibly) the same ones.

If you successfully loose a lot of weight but can't shift the bit in the
middle then an Atkins type regime might do the trick or you can ask your Doc
for a course of a diabetic drug called Metformin which lowers insulin
resistance. This helps some obese patients who just cannot shift that last
bit. You have to really try the exercise with low carbs first though.

What I have discovered is that your GP may well have very little knowledge
and awareness of these things, indeed might give you advice which can make
things worse. Most UK dieticians will give the wrong advice. Even some
specialist consultants haven't caught up yet.

Strangely enough, it wasn't anything to do with diets.

Being involved with certain substances maybe, but it was nowt to do with
    grapes and water.

  13. Or go to Pizza Express or somewhere else where they don't soak the
pizzas in lard before they serve them.
