    Wasn't the OP asking about sending email rather than posting to usenet? I
    appreciate that a usenet post is more or less an email anyway, but mail
    servers don't add the same type of traces in the headers do they?

    Course a dynamically assigned IP addy will only get you to a ripe lookup
    for the isp's address range, but it is a bit annoying when the rdns reveals
    your username as many isps use that as the subdomain.

    I'm obviously missing something, so apologies for being thick,
    please bear with me, etc...

    1.) "PAYG BTopenworld account" <-- Standard 56k dial up, yes?
    2.) "web mail " ?? Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.. If yes, which one?

    I don't want to use a "dialup" as we've already established, so
    you're pointing me at a "web mail" service that will proect my
    local IP, right?

    Doh! Got it now, cheers.. I /was/ being thick then, glad we got
    that sorted.
