  1. ....but because the biker seems to have been a 'wit.

Boss just caled to say he'd be working from home having had his car
smashed into yesterday by a bike.

mid thirties riding some sort of non sprot non custom bike on a
    provisional licence.

From Bike POV, he's riding down the main road which bears left round a
slight bend. There is a right hand junction, but because of the bend
it's more like a straight on. Nevertheless it's a turning off the main
road, so priority is to oncoming traffic.

Well, boss was said oncoming traffic, pootling along with wife and
sproglets in the car (Volvo S60) when the bike fails to stop and give
way, instead attempting to take the junction and T boning the side of
the Volvo just between front wheel and drivers door. Straight across the
bonnet and windscreen in to a heap on the other side.

All okay, couple of broken ribs and dented pride. Apparently it's his
3rd accident. IIRC you can only have a provisional for max 2 years if no
test is passed, then you take a year out? So that's 3 accidents in
maximum of 2 years. FFS I hope he gets the hint and learns to ride
properly, or stops riding or something. Cnut.

Is that all? Christ I certainly had more than that in my
first year of riding... if you count parked cars.

  3. well I'm assuming it was meant as accidents which were recorded - ie not
flipping it, hitting parked cars and doing a runner etc etc.

My drive (steep hill) used to be gravel. When I picked up
my 'ped it was OK riding it home... it wasn't so OK when I
left for school the next day; too much throttle, too much
brake, too much gravel and thin school trousers. Ouch.

Actually I can't believe I've lived this long when I stop to
    think about it.
