It would need to be abrasion resistant as well as impact resistant.
Perhaps with a kevlar outer layer?

 

Hmmmm, maybe a leather that's impact resistant!

I have been looking to incorporate this armour into my suits for the
last 5 months. They are big on press releases, but slow on results. They
have designs ready to go but are holding back at the moment, so yeah,
you will see them on suits real soon.

It's called cuir boulli, and it is very tough. Good luck bending in
it though...
