Is there any small Sports Bikes(crotch rocket) other than the Ninja.
I'm looking for a beginner bike (200-300ccs) for my daughter.

    Thx,
    Larry

Where in the world are you? There's tons of 250cc performance bikes
In the US. I looked at the big 4 before I asked this question. The
small cc bikes I found were touring (i.e. Virago), or standard street
    bikes.

I'm not trying to avoid any bike. I'm new to cycling and my daughter
wants to ride too. She want a sports bike, I just don't want to put a
100lb teenage girl on a 600cc/750cc bike for the first time. As I
mentioned I Iooked at the big 4 J's and the Ninja was the only thing I
found. I thought I must be doing something wrong if I'm only coming up
    with one bike.
Sorry, just going by the website model selection. Good to know it is
an upright bike. I don't really think she wants a racing style bike.

    Thanks,
    Larry

If it weren't for the sportbike requirement, I was going to suggest
the above two bikes. Especially the Yamaha.
No body panels to replace or paint when/if she lets it roll over on
it's side. They have a low enter of gravity to let her get used to the
    bike.
    Inexpensive bikes.

    As I stated I'm a new rider and I have a '84 Yamaha XV1000. The only
reason I purchesed it was because it handled better than the Nignthawk
250 I rode in my rider's safety course. I would love for her to decide
to go Virago, but ya can't be too much like dad I guess.

My buddy talked me into looking at it. I thought I'll never be able to
keep it off the ground. However, now I would reccomend one to anyone
looking for a nice ride. It's very comfortable.

  7. Dual sports are cool but they generally have a high seat height, which
may pose a problem for a smaller beginner rider. The Yamaha XT225 is
    relatively short but somewhat expensive.

Between the Ninja 250 and Nighthawk 250, the Ninja is definitely a
better buy - not only cheaper, but a much more capable machine all around.

If money is an issue, you could even consider an older (mid 80's) bike
around 400 cc's. It'll probably get dropped, better an old machine than
    a new one.

How bout the Buell Blast its under 500 cc's and is very light weight and
they are used for some different msf training courses because they are
easy for women and beginners to handle and pickup.
Another thing is <I'm not sure if harley is still doing this<but if she
keeps it for a year then trade it in the dealer will give a full trade
in to get her into something bigger after she gets experienced.
    Good luck with your decision
