Weather for Loh/Thurmansbang-Solla Germany is showing -3 C during the
day with -9 at night, warming up at the end of the week to 0 degrees
    with -1 at night.

Todays delivery of my alpkit SkyeHigh 1000 sleeping bag almost completes
my preparations. Comfort rating of -16 C should do the trick.

Just need to pick up a couple bottles of whisky and I'll be fully
    prepared for the ride.

    OK, the ride is sorted.

What are you proposing to wear when sleeping?

Those ever efficient Germans will have the snowploughs out and the
road cleared by early on the Friday morning.

Why are we aiming to be at the rally site on the Thursday?

Thanks for reminding me, I'd better pack a couple of bottles of rum too.

I don't fucking care as long the high speed train to Madrid departs from
just crossing the street (I live next to the station) and avoid Iberia and
    their radial flights schema.

Problem of Madrid is that it is too cold (and hot in summer) to be livable,
but not cold enough to be prepared for some bit of snow. Med weather rules
    (with the Pyrenees at hand)

It would be the same here in the SW UK. We've not had any snow yet this
winter, but if we do, it'll be chaos. It always is. Thankfully we don't
have a bustling international airport to keep open.

TBH, Barajas is rather a gateway to Spanish-speaking America. My uncle flies
every year to Brazil and after two years using Iberia-Barajas moved to TAP
and Lisbon and no more worries.
