I polish my seat to make it slippery to allow me to slide around on it.
Being so short I cannot get my foot down unless I slide my bottom off the
seat. I got caught out once when my leathers stuck to the seat and I
couldn't get my foot down, the bike then toppled over on top of me.

Those thing are pretty quick off the mark. While teaching CBT's I would
often ferry these things around town. They are quite nippy so the
accelerating problem may still be there.

Go to Lidl's on Thurs 26 Jan and buyan anti-slip PVC foam car boot mat
for £2.49p... Cut down and fold/secure under the seat... It won't be
    pretty but it might work...

Could well be, thoguh I've heard the T-cut thing before. I have similar
problems with sliding on my seat when wearing my textile stuff, but right
now I'd rather keep off the beans to prevent seat slippage than end up with
    wheel slippage IYSWIM.

I've seen T-Cut used to remove a polishing product (like Armor-All)
from a slippy bike seat, and it worked. Not something I'd recommend
doing regularly as who knows what effect T-Cut will have on the seat
material, which splits easily enough anyway.

I just grip the tank with my knees to avoid sliding forwards.

The Corbin (or similar) on my Bindat12 is "Slippy By Shape"(tm) and by
material. Wearing leather troos sorts it all out though, therefor.....
