When you pick it up, persuade Shirley that buying your Daytona would be
    a very sensible idea

I think once she sees it she'll fall in love with it. There is a brand
new standard silencer that goes with it along with the original rear
    seat that rarely gets fitted.

Ok, I think a nice house in Bicester would suit me down to the ground.
You can take the bikes, wife and son with you, but leave your daughter
cos I could do with a cute looking housekeeper.

It's even nicer now, with Scottoiler and touring kit, Daytona heated
grips and soon to be highly polished footrest hangers.

You might not have ever fitted the seat, but I use it when I fit the
tailpack on. Saves possibly scratching the paint on the cover.

re-reads original post. I thought you said silencer that was rarely
fitted. the seat, yeah, normally when I wanted to use luggage.

The silencer has never been within 5 foot of the bike since I bought it.
As far as I'm aware it was fitted until the bike went for pdi, then the
carbon one went on and stayed on. I don't think the bike has ever been
started with the standard silencer fitted.

It figures that they never started the bike with it fitted after it left
the factory. When new Triumphs leave the factory the ECU is programmed
so that it needs a code entering before it can be started again.
Enetering the start code is about the last thing you do when pdiing a
new Triumph, so the can would have been changed before they hooked it up
and downloaded the race tune and start code.

    Never mind.

There's something inherently pleasing about tearing around on a stupidly
small bike with the throttle nailed to the stop.
