Slicks for 17 x 4.50 rims

I've recently started racing a VFR400 in a class which allows the use
    of slick tyres.
    I swapped the standard 18x4.5" back wheel for a RVF's 17x4.5" thinking
there would be a better choice of tyres.
So far I've only used a Bridgestone 165/630R17 YCY (Med) on the rear
but noticed that I wasn't using all the tyre. Then I found that this
tyre was the recommended tyre for a 250GP bike with a 5.00" rim (or
    ideally 5.50), according to www.barebones.net/tires.
It seems Bridgestone don't make a slick for a 4.5" rim. (In fact they
do make one for the 18x4.5" rim but only in a soft compound.)
I've been looking for a tyre selection table for Michelin or Dunlop
slicks so I can find something better suited to the 17 x 4.5 rim.

Can anyone give me any advice or a url?
