If I do that i'd start to dwell on matters I really don't want to think
about. Very, very bad thing to happen.

Probably more the mountaineering than the beer in all honesty.

  4. No - I can eat bread quite happily without said effects. I suspect it's
more of a 'fermentation by-product allergy' cos some ciders do it as
    well.

Spirits (including whisky) are fine - it's just some beers have that
    effect[1]

[1] Although not German beers - or at least not the ones I tried.

I'll let you know if my Melatonin arrives.

Isn't that the stuff that makes you go brown when you get a tan anyway?
HTF does that make you go to sleep?

If you can get a load mailed to me at the Radisson SAS in Colorado
Springs, to arrive before Friday 30th September, I'll bring it back
and drop it in the post when I pass through London.

Fair point. And one I hadn't considered.

I did get stopped when I arrived in London last Friday. She said: do
you know the rules about how much alcohol and tobacco you are allowed
to bring in?", and I said "yes, but I don't smoke and I've just come
from Kuwait, where you can't buy alcohol, so I haven't got any of
    either".
    It's a hotel, fool.

Maybe they don't have SAS Radisson's in the UK?

Actually, I'm 99% sure they do, so no excuse.

Have you got a NHS pre-payment card? £95ish a year and you can get as
many prescriptions as you want all year long.

I've had one for the past 3 years and it must have saved me shed loads
    of money.

(yes I know where you work and I suspect this will be an egg/mothers
    mother/education interface, but...)

Also if you want it I've got packets of 20mg (could be 10, can't
remember) codine pills here I'll never use.

Jesus, even I know the answer to that one, and I'm just some faceless
newbie. Though I suspect he also sells his meds to school kids in order to
    supplement his income.

Not being funny, but do you tend to get ill easily or something, or have a
recurring issue that needs constant meds? I think I've needed one
prescription in the last 3 years.
