I just had an unsolicited recruitment enquiry. The job description is:

"If you are an exceptional Lean Champion or Six Sigma Black Belt seeking a
new challenge with a global leader...."

I'm speechless, though we do know a Lean Champion.
Do people *really* talk like this anywhere.

Having googled it, it sounds like a business equivalent of scientology.

  3. Yes. Many Manufacturing and Supply chain companies still herald this as
    the holy grail.

I still maintain that the tools within the concept are very useful, it's
the amount of BS that goes with them that causes me grief.

Still, It's lucrative if you can get into it and go EKS.

Yes, except that if they had half a clue they would know that Lean
Champion != Black Belt. Its all old hat: I even saw something advertising
an NVQ in Six Sigma the other day.

*dingly ding*, although some companies really buy into the idea - to
the extent of giving the Black Belt (and the rest of the team) an
amazing level of autonomy in what tends to be quite regimented and
    hierarchical company structures.

Useful tools, but some cringeworthy shite that goes around it.

PS Hog, if your not following it up you could always chuck the details
    in this direction.

I've not heard "Lean Champion" but I have heard the rest used... with
    straight faces.

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.

I know a grey Champion. 'Silver surfer' ?

Six Sigma is wank. CSC had it as part of their core objective.

Now if someone could explain 'Wax Removal' to me ...
