untie Carole includes it with her policies, if you're with CN.

Actually, I've just got an annual policy for the cage from the RAC.
Unlimited trips, but they cancel the policy after the third claim/
recovery, which doesn't seem unreasonable. Just over £100, anyway.
Worth a call to see if they do a similar bike deal.

    Are you holding someone hostage?

Carole's never given me a competitive quote for insurance, so it's never
been worth accepting it just to get the breakdown cover.
An annual policy isn't worth it for me.

Well yes, but only if she uses the safeword.

  6. Before I became Johnny Foreigner, my regular trips here included getting
breakdown cover. In my experience, single trip cover costs more than an
    annual policy ie; a no-brainer.

OTOH, I've had two different vehicles repatriated from France all the
way back to the frozen North; it's all been taken care of for me, and a
courtesy car's been provided each time. *I'm* quids in...

Agreed, *if* you make regular trips. I don't, at the moment.

  9. No no. I meant with the AA (if I remember correctly) a single trip
policy cost more than a whole year's policy.

RAC European Cover doesn't recover following a breakdown. Or rather
they do but they charge you - bad news if you're not planning on
claiming on your insurance. Smae with AA.

Britannia are the badgers. Free recovery following an accident.

Yes. Thanks for spotting that. What a dickhead typo to make. :-(
Yes, if that was a problem it aint suitable. You can transfer cover at
will but you can't transfer it back to a vehicle that has already had
it IYSWIM. I've swapped it 3 times. They do single use cover which is
what the OP was asking about.

Oh, right. I don't think that's the case now; I'm not even sure that
they offer an annual policy any more. Anyway, their single trip cover
certainly isn't the cheapest, so I wouldn't be taking that option.

We could, but we'd also need to take into account the relative distance
that each of us would have to travel (and therefore costs incurred) in
order to repatriate a vehicle; you live a lot closer to "Europe" than I do.

Ummm... close enough, yes. An extra 300 miles on a round-trip.

Cheapest I've seen so far is ~£18, but I'll have to check what cover
    that gives.

I found cheaper but they then added to it for motorcycling.

    IIRC that was insureandgo.

In the past when not covered by Auntie Carol I've bought an annual policy
for £59 - covers the bike in the UK too.

    Quotelinedirect.co.uk

You can swap cover for no cost from one vehicle to another via the website.
I've used it for both car & bike trips to Europe in the same year.
