    Things change, as do people. Just because one attempt doesn't stand
    the test of time (although in my case it took nine years until she
    changed her mind) doesn't mean the concept itself is flawed.

    While, ultimately, the phrase ought to mean "partner for the rest of
    your life", it also works on a day-to-day bases - "partner I share my
    life with".
