Hi to anyone who remembers me.

Does Simon Atkinson still post here, or does anyone have an email address
for him? If anyone can help or if Simes should see this, then could
    they(he) look me up at

    Many thanks

What kind of a **** are you? Posting a forum members name will get
people worried that he might be dead or something.

It should at least get a flame from sir.tony.

Wa-hey! Just like old times. Wasn't it you who discovered that Dan
Nitschke was feeling suicidal, and tried to see if you could provoke
    him to pop his cork?

Ta to Bear for Sime's contact info. I've had a reply from the big fella now.

So what's the story with Danikins? If I tipped him over the edge into
    insanity, it didn't take
much of a push, and a good few of his reeky 'mates' did their best to make
    Usenet a Dan
Free Zone. He was so far up his own arse he could lick the back of his own
    tonsils.

BTW I was proper sad to hear about so many ukrm posters coming to an
    untimely end. I
never met Mat Tabs, but I knew Denis (DwP) Gale and Sue (Windy).

I moved to New Zealand a year ago, and it's right nice here, but not great
    for tearing
about on motorcycles coz it's to difficult to get away with it here :-(.

    Take care

I found him moderately amusing once you discounted his ego. Then again
the ego issue is hardly unique on usenet.

  13. Hello Trev!

I may be down that way for a while next year.

  14. I can see he would have that effect on some people. I always enjoyed his
postings, and we still correspond from time to time.

I only met Mat once, briefly, just before he dropped off the twig. Windy
is still missed by everyone who knew her. I never knew DwP or Gale, but
I always enjoyed DwP's postings as well.
It's getting bloody difficult here as well, with sodding gatso cameras
and now a 24-hour number-plate recognition system which everyone reckons
will be used to nab speeders sooner or later.

  15. Oh Lord! NZ? Reminds me of the old, old joke...

A Pommy decides to emigrate to NZ. TPTB tried to dissuade him, but
he insisted. Finally they said, "You do realise that to qualify as a Kiwi,
we'll have to operate, removing 10% of your brain, leaving you with only
    90% of a Pom's mental capacity?"

"Yeah, sure." he said, "I'm up for that. Anything to escape
Margaret Thatcher!" [I just threw that in to give some indication of how old]

So, they operated. Afterwards he starts to break out of the drug
haze, only to find his bed surrounded by a number of doctors and nurses,
all visibly concerned. This helped clear his head.

    "Umm... Is anything the matter?"

"Well, yes. Remember we said we'd take 10% of your brain, leaving 90%?"

    "Yes..."

"Well, the surgeon made a mistake. Instead he took 90%, leaving only 10%."

    "Ah, she'll be right mate!"

    PS: Hi Trev!

The loss of Windy and Mat Tab really affected ukrm, IMHO. Windy was like
the heart and soul of this place, and Mat was quite simply an offence
    against nature :)[/QUOTE]

It affected *you* very strongly. Most of the rest of us just got on
    with life.
