*Sigh*

  1. nah, not really. And I'd not be happy flogging it on other than cheap.
yeah. trouble with this one, since it had a clutch fail, it's contaminated
all the oil, so I reckon the control block would need dismantling and
cleaning at the least, and that's the tricky bit. The gear-and-clutch thing
    is presumably fairly simple.

Fair enough... You'll never be a millionaire with scruples you know.
I've just given em a bit of a flush and hoped for the best in the past -
usually the clutch slipping makes the oil go black and smell 'burnt' - I
don't think it's clutch material so much as the heat that does that to
    the oil.

  3. I know... *sigh*.

but I'd rather be like that than rip people off.
This one reached the point of not engaging at all, and the oil, which had
recently been changed, was pretty dirty looking.

I flushed the converter out quite thoroughly, and intend to change the oil
    again before too long.

and I still don't know why people remove an auto box and leave the converter
on the bloody engine. stupid. especially as in this case, it's only a case
of undoing 4 bolts to separate it from the drive plate, a matter of 15
minutes work at the most, and that includes removing the cover.
