Oh yes. Fuck me, it's nice. Houston, we have torque...
I hear that the 1200 is really not that much more powerful than my one, if fact the difference is hardly noticable.
Well, as I had a 600 before this one, I can tell you unequivocally that what you've heard is utter bollocks. Even at running in revs (>5500 currently), the pick-up is nuts - 3.5k rpm in top gear is 60mph, ISTR the 600 having to do about 5k rpm in top for that.
I'm surprised you fell for it Darren. He was sitting on the river bank with a neon sign flashing "please Mr fishy jump in my net". Glad the new bike has found favour already.
Sorry Darren, some had to reduce that new bike grin to stop the top of your head falling off. Hope you enjoy your new bike, next time you pass a 600 it could be me so don't forget to shout out "wanker" as you go by.
Sungwoh gek gnis fukhig 'uk ow o' nge ngouffh... Well, it's new innit? Once the novelty value wears off, we'll see what it's really like. Should have it nicely run in and past the first service by the time spring arrives.
Toldja! Lubbly, innit. Big grin time, mate - hope you get a chance to enjoy it before the snow and ice shut you down. Beware the torque on less-than-grippy roads, too - it will spin up surprisingly easily; you'll want to be at least one gear higher everywhere than with the 6.
This I have already discovered. Was very nearly a BTM. Greasy roundabouts, pouring rain and new tyres do not combine favourably with buckets of low-down torque. Having one gear less than the 6 makes that last concept interesting. Can't wait for some decent weather.
