I passed my test on one of them.

I even managed to wheelie it[1][2].

    Good luck to you.

[1] In typical ham-fisted learner, rev the tits of it when stationary and
then dump the clutch sort of way.
[2] But not while knee-sliding, for obvious reasons.

Aww, and you could've had a ZXR400SP too.

Too late now, it's sold and on it's way for a bit of fettling before
being ridden around the IOM a lot faster than I could've done it.

Heh, me too. Bloody hell that was almost a year ago, time has flown by.
Whilst lofting the front wheel was my biggest fear, I never even came close

And fine little bikes they are if you don't mind not going over 70 mph
or if you don't mind being vibrated into next week. Also if you don't
mind having to 'encourage' them around bends. Very low seat suits
girlies. Very high bars suits no-one. I believe they also made a 500
thumper - I should think the vibration was even worse.
Correction - _I_ have one in the shed that Owen is working on. And it
lives, Igor, it lives! Well, it starts on the screwdriver (ignition
lock now ripped out as keys long since lost), and gets filled on the
screwdriver too, and now sports a new back light and number plate. It
would be ready for it's first MOT in 3 years if the indicators would
work in the usual 2 and two configuration instead of 3 and 1. Later it
is to have better bars and orange painted tank and panels with its
newly-Hammerited frame. I should take some photos.

Yeah. I don't have a face full of zits, for starters. I'll admit to the
ugly, big ears and crooked teeth, though.

Nyer nyer - as you realised, it was the 250 I was on about.
I did have an SR125 to learn on. Slow it was, especially uphill. Apart
from that, it was a fine little bike, ideal to learn on.

Well mine is. Or was. Now it's been much rebuilt, it may be much
better. The back wheel was completely fucked, which may have been a
cause of the vibration. Also of the bad handling. I have yet to ride
it since the rebuild, as it has no MOT or tax at the moment.
