How come the fuckers don't come in UK size 10? You have to either go for too big or too small?
I've had a good gander on "Da Net" and it seems they only come in 44,45,46 etc sizes everywhere where you can buy em. The problem is that 44 = UK 9 1/2 and 45 = UK 10 1/2. I got a pair of Sidi Vertigos and they're in 44. Went in to my local bike shop yesterday and they confirmed that Sidi don't make them in size 10. I couldn't believe it coz there must be loads of people with size 10 feet that are wearing boots that are too loose (dangerous) or too tight (painful).
/google/ "sidi boots size 10" brings back loads of hits for people selling the fucking things, you total mong.
There should always be enough room to wiggle your toes in shoes or boots, and the ankle part of the boot is fully adjustable, so I think you're ranting over nothing.
Is it possible for whatever they make Sidi Vertebras out of to shrink? Mine definitely feel tighter than they used to, and I'm pretty sure my feet haven't got any bigger.
I've not tried adjusting the ankle part yet (didn't even know it was adjustable, I thought only the calf bit was). I did try the Eur 45 and they had about an inch at the back of the boot, so went for the Eur 44 as they were snug. But since I got them from the BMF I was wondering whether this "only available in half sizes" was a load of cock n bull? I'm certainly not ranting though just trying to find out if someone was spinning a yarn or not ;-P
It certainly does. It brings up lots of size 10 boots which are actually Eur 45 (Sidi only sell in European sizes apparently). Euro 45 = UK 10.5. One such hit was for "sidi boots size 10" is http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-boots/sidi/strada-evo/ Which states pretty much the same thing...
Which match UK half sizes unless you're lucky enough to be a UK 9 or 11 ;-) Maybe I'll be fine if I cut my toenails... ;-)
Not necessarily: http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html#adult Just face it: every manufacturer's shoes or boots will vary slightly in size and shape. It might just be that SIDIs don't suit you.
Just because you Brits have to have your own way of measuring *everything*[1][2] doesn't mean an Italian manufacturer has to follow[3]. The difference between 44 and 45 isn't that much, just wear thicker/thinner socks depending on what you got and you should be ok. Either way, shoe sizes tend to vary slightly, so one manufacturer's size 44 doesn't necessarily equal another's. [1] I expect you to come up with the Imperial Light Year (ILY) just for the hell of it. And then the Americans to cock that up with the US LY, being based on the ILY but not quite the same. [2] In fairness, your measuring units predate those commonly used nowadays, but that's not a very good excuse to stick to something that's less efficient. [3] Although I'm grateful when I can find a size 43 2/3. Geo
