Should I go to work today?

I agreed with my manager that I'd come in to work for two days of my
holiday (and bill it as overtime) to do training on a new booking
    module.

I thought it was for Thursday and Friday this week. Late last night
while nattering with SeanH about a possible ride out this afternoon I
opened my email and noticed the following:

    25th July 0900 - 1100 Module 4
    25th July 1400 - 1500 Module 5
    26th July 0900 - 1600 Module 6

....Which means I missed the training yesterday and they never phoned
me to ask WTF I was. Now... should I go in today to do the long
module or should I turn up tomorrow knowing full well there is no
training and then throw my hands up in the air and "Oh no! That means
I missed the training on Tuesday too!"

    Comments by 8am please.

I arrived at 08:30 and had a natter to old colleagues in the Smoking
Room, went to attend the training in an empty room. Went to security,
phoned my manager at t'other building "Hello, It's Nick. I'm over at
Enbrook." "Oh." "I take it training has been cancelled for today?"
"Yes" "Thanks for letting me know." "I'm terribly sorry Nick."

So I have turned me forgetting about it around into their fault for
not telling me it was cancelled. Result.

Hmmm, are you also going to get these days somewhere else? If not, then
you're not really getting overtime pay.

Well, standard time + time and a third = double time and a third. It
wasn't as if I was doing anything today. But as they cancelled the
training and forgot to tell me I'm at home anyway.

  9. If you ask me (and I know you didn't), but you're far too keen going in
when you're on holiday. Holidays are that time you get away from work
and have some time to yourself.

I used to do that sort of stuff, and they never appreciate it.

I've had so much time to myself over the last two weeks that I've
trained up a Human Warrior to Level 16 and a Night Elf Hunter + Pet to
Level 20. That's not good, is it?
    I appreciate you, my dear.

  13. I've no idea, as I've never done online gaming. Personally, I would be
getting out on the bike, sorting out the odd weekend/few days away (just
    because you can) or WHY.
Ahhh. Perhaps I should get my arse in gear and have a day out on the
bike and visit your neck of the woods. we seem to have an awful lot in
    common ;)

Or sorting out the World Hunger Year?

I did sort out an itinerary for a seven day trip to the Loire Valley
yesterday in the hope of doing it in June '07. This is all I have
achieved during the last two weeks.
    asl?

    Seven days.
    Less than two weeks.

Why not just GO to the Loire and DO the trip?
