Some of the electrical components on my Ducati are stamped "FIAT Lancia"
I'd be effing terrified. That said, I remember riding a Guzzi Spada Mark Three many moons ago, and discovering that there were Lucas components on it. It's hard to think of a more unholy combination that Italian wiring loosely connecting Joe Lucas bits.
Most of mine are Magnetti Spaghetti, I think. I wouldn't worry too much - my experience with Alfas and Fiats over the years suggests that the Bosch bits are most likely to go wrong.
I decided to dismantle and clean the clutch yesterday. WC of this parish was on-site and commented that he'd never seen so much clutch come out of such a small hole. There was loads of it.
In message Some Morini stuff had Ducati Eletrotechnica or something similar stamped on them. Orrh come on now be fair. Lucas kept the "great" British biking and car industry (along with Rippaults<sp>) going for many years. They were great at the time, they just forgot that times has a bastard problem of moving on..... Progression I think the word is ;o)
Yebbut, Jap electrical components of themselves generally don't harbour kamikaze tendencies, Honda reg/recs andSuzuki alternators exepted.
Not worried about the electrics on my Ducati, it's made it to 42,000 miles so far. Got it booked in for the MOT on Wednesday and I'm more worried about the state of the front discs [1]. The Elefantentreffen hasn't been good to them even though I washed it when I got back and then gave it a good hosing down and clean up again when the snow melted. [1] Prace bets now for me coming to the BOSM in the car.
