Short measures

I just noticed that a couple of my plastic 30cm rulers are only 29.9cm.
What is the world coming to? I blame global warming.

 

Give 'em an inch and they'll take ... er ....a tenth of a mill ...

 

Who says the other measuring device isn't wrong, eh? eh?

 

Cooling more like - if it'd been warm the plastic would have expanded to
30.1 cm!

 

Well, that's it you see. They were designed in anticipation of Global
Warming, so they'll get more accurate with age.

 

I thought we were entering a new Ice-Age. (harking back to 'news' in the
60's)

 

It's a saving thing, eventually they get a whole new 29.9 cm ruler for free.

 

Settlement during transportation?

 

As I found myself reading this post, I wondered if I might not have more
fun dead.

You're right. It's not interesting but it could be important if you
want to do any accurate work. Time to get a calibrated ruler....

 

Could we just have a "corrected" Prime Minister instead - you know,
corrected as in severely beaten?
