Bought a new top grade fantastically expensive Abus security chain on Thursday. Described as 1.4m Chain and Lock. It's an integral lock and ultra heavy duty chain. Checking it would fit the rather precise dimensions of my bike parking spot I found that said chain was in fact only 1.2m long plus about 5-10cm added by the lock. Back to Alvins today and the nice men there could not have been more helpful. They seemed genuinely shocked to find that their stock was not as described, and will be haranguing the Abus importer on Monday. If anyone else has bought one of these I suggest you measure it. I'll post again once I see how events develop.
