Shoei Raid - anti-mist visors

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Tristan Greaves, Sep 24, 2003.

  1. Hi all,

I've got a Shoei Raid lid. However, now it is getting colder again I'm
in the market for the usual anti-mist solutions (I had a Schuberth
Concept, before an "incident", which stayed pretty clear all the time).

Does anyone have any experience of the anti-mist visors that Shoei sell?

    Thanks,

    Tris.

I have one, it works fine. Dunno if a foggy is any better/cheaper though.

I've got a Raid, and it was terrible for misting up when first got it - far
worse even than my previous £65 Spada.

Didn't try buying a new visor, but bought a Shoei breath deflector (didn't
like Foggy masks, as I found them uncomfortable to wear). Reduced the
problem a bit, but not much. Also directed the airflow towards my eyes,
drying them out a bit. I then bought a Fog City and fitted it - job done. No
misting at all, and the only problem is slightly worse reflections from
    lights at night.

  5. Pin Lock? I'm not sure I know what this is.

I was referring to the stand-alone replacement visors that you just
click into place on a Shoei Raid (and otehr Shoei helmets which use the
    same system).

    Is this the same thing?

    Tris.

It is at moments like this that my admiration for Lozzo nears it's
    pinnacle.

He was passing his helmet round Sarrat for all to see and try and none
of us and no amount of huffing and puffing could make it mist up.

What a bloke though, the smell inside it was bad enough when it reached
me and it still had a couple of eager heads to go before Loz put it back
    on to ride home.

Yupp. THey work really well, then fall off. I bought one two weeks
back, before starting my EOSM/Paris/Togtours marathon. It lasted about
800km before jettisoning the little plugs that it's held on by, thus
rendering the visor unusable by virtue of the wind noise.

Now it _could_ have been my own fault, as I'd 'adjusted' it to sit
higher on the visor, which maybe isn't supposed to be done. Without
doing so, howevere, it was always too low for a sprotsbike riiding
position and I found myself looking strainght at the top of the
    insert.

    Hi Tris

Have you just tried the old washing up liquid trick? I've got a Shoei & it
works fine on that. Just a thought like
