Shipping my bike from Devon to Hessen, Germany recommendations foragents?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Glenn Hurrell, Nov 26, 2009.

  1. I need to arrange to have my GSX1200 INazuma shipped from Devon to
    Germany.

Does anyone have any recommendations for shipping agents that I could
    get in touch with?

    TIA

Ride it or van it, anything else will cost a lot.

  4. Hmm, OK let me clarify the situation..

I have a Suzuki GSX1200, with no insurance or licence plates, that I
need to move from Devon to my place in Germany. I need to get it
moved in the next 4-6 weeks, during which time I cannot van back to
    Devon due to work restrictions.

Believe me, if I could ride it or van it I would - that option is not
    available to me.

    Cheers

Stick a number plate on it and ride it.
Whats the worst that could happen?

In theory, that may be open to a charge of 'Attempting to Pervert the
Course of Justice' which I believe carries a maximum sentence of life
    in jail.

I have a car, trailer and willing navigating assistants: so if you're
stuck and between Christmas and New Year would be convenient to you, you
can consider engaging Ginger Trailering Services at gingerbloke at gmail
dot com. We've shuttled numerous uk.r.m. bikes around the UK, and a
road trip to Deutschland would be a simple extension.

Do you not get time off work ?
No more than 3 days round trip.

FWIW, it cost 150ukp(ish) to have a bike delivered from London to
    Liverpool in 2007.

    Start doing the maths.

Or, get a mate with time to hire a van.
But give him all the docs and a letter saying it is ok for him to take away.
