Looking to ship the Gixxy down from Brisbane to Melbourne and would like any
suggestions on the companies anyone has tried. I've pushed the ride-down
issue to the point of frustration but my olds wont budge. I've googled (the
ng and around) but not fully satisfied so I thought I'd give this a go.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions...

  2. Tell them you are catching the train then just ride down. Once you arrive
there isn't much they can do about it is there? It can't have been anywhere
near as dangerous as they reckon if you made it down safe and sound...

For added effect meet them at the train station.

Id have to say riding down is almost as safe as flying.. and the way NSW rail is
the trains are a risk :_)

These Queenslanders, they come to our state expecting Engineering ...

(you could get a job designing number-plate brackets for Ducks!)

Bikes Only, talk to Kurt Johnston, Springwood is the Bris depot.
Depot to depot is cheapest, Melb depot close to CBD.
    call 07-3219 7000 fax 07-3219 7122.
They're a Brissie mob, covered transport only (Fergusson is sometimes using
open trailers; just got a bike from a mate in Adelaide, 800km on open
trailer through the road muck and rain, gosh...what a mess it was).
Bris to Melb should be cheaper than the other way around, since main traffic
    goes south-to-north.

    cheers

  13. TB,

I use Darryl Savory of Cycle Trans - 0413 760 850 He does regular Bris
to Melb trips using a covered truck. Has done work for my clients when
I'm shipping bikes to New Zealand and back and they have all been
happy with the service and the condition of their bikes on arrival.
He's fully insured although your bike is probably covered whilst in
transit anywhere in Australia as part of your Fully Comp policy.

    Kind regards

Trouble is it'd be over $300 in airfare, petrol and accom so he may as well ship it and save the tyre wear....
