Shimming the Pig...

    Where's a good place to buy shims? Online ordering preferred...

    Specifically, 25mm diameter shims. Does anyone make shims in less than
    0.05mm increments?

    Then you'd be wanting my Triples-Only valveclearances spreadsheet.?

    Inputs:

    target clearance range (inlet and exhaust) (can go to tight end or loose end
    or standard)
    Fitted shim (suggest measure with calipers)
    clearance (measured)
    Shim sizes in toolbox (Spares)


    Outputs:
    Shopping list of shims (ie whats not in the toolbox or already fitted)
    spare/unneeded shims to swap (no. of each size)
    Shim size to fit to each
    Estimated valve clearance after fitting recommended shim.


    Only designed for bikes with 3 cylinders ;-)


    If I get an extra cylinder (and/or more valves) I'll rebuild it...

    I might, if I hadn't already done the maths...
    Looks like the only shims I can find come in 0.05mm increments... 0.02mm
    would be better...
    Borrowed a micrometer... : )
    I'll be re-checking clearances anyway, after I fit the new ones...
    Are there any other kind?...

    All done, shims ordered via e-mail, no response as yet, I'll ring 'em
    tomorrow.
