  3. Disrespectful swines!

Fancy typing when there's an important thing like that on.

There were quite a few people standing still looking pensive on TCR just
now - and Micro Anvika seemed to have kicked everyone out of the shop. No
change here in the office, mercifully - the usual media luvvies running
    around shouting "Run VT"

Eh? What did I miss? Oh, hangon, this'd be one of them silly 2-minute
silences people were harping on about, would it?

  7. I heard that on Radio 4 this morning ... and wondered how much 'social
condemnation' would rain down on those who didn't follow along like sheep,
and observe three minutes' silence. If the government ordered a
'simultaneous shit', you'd see the fucking twats squatting down at the
alloted hour, convinced that they're doing something useful.

I'm torn between crying, 'Idiots ! Get off your knees !!', and the stark,
cold realisation that the overwhelming majority of people _need_ to be told
what to do, and would be lost otherwise.

    bugger I missed it!

I was out collecting a parcel from Alaska which consisted of:
    A moose shaped oven glove
    A calendar of aurora borealis
    a "moosages" pad
    and a chrimbo card

I was trudging along silently in the rain so I suppose I sort of
    observed it.

I can't wait until I get to see the re-runs on the news!

emerged from their own little world to say
I came out of a Uni building and saw a throng of about 200 people outside
the Welsh Assembly building. I thought it was another fire drill. Then I
spotted the TV satellite van and a very dwarf-like Gordon Brown on the
steps. Fortunately I missed his speech.

Watch out for the bloke in a black coat picking his way through the crowd
when they show it on the news.

I can't imagine this being the case. And even if some worthless type
displayed that kind of attitude would it really be any less sickening than
the "Look at me showing everyone just how much I don't care" attitudes being
posted today? I'd be just as disgusted with someone sniggering at their own
audacity at defying the call for silence as I would be of those who shook
their heads and plastered on fake expressions of sincerity for 3 minutes.
Personally, I could happily machine gun people taking up either position
    quite happily.

Why do you have to do anything? Contribure if you think it will make a
difference or don't but ignore the hype either way. I don't see why cynical
indifference has to be worn like a medal of honour when the only people who
are suffering are those that couldn't give a **** who observes the silence
    or doesn't.

Discreetly absent yourself and carry on with doing your thing without
    impinging on the others.

    Probably the most diplomatic solution.

You're still getting them, are you? Did you also get the one where
they're trying to work out who they've got on the project?

Don't they disable your accounts the minute you're out the door?

Oh, hang on... that would involve them having A Clue, wouldn't it?

Just goes to show you that the suffering isn't just confined to the
immediate area of devastation. Have you set yourself up a fund somewhere I
    can contribute to your plight?
