    Yup - another helmet thread.

Seems the space displaced by my cranium is nicely housed in Shark helmets
too. Previously I have been limited to either Shoei or HJC because of the
size/shape of my skull and the fact I need to wear glasses or I run into
    things.

My Shoei is still going strong, 3 years into it's life. The HJC is looking
twice as old as the Shoei but only had it's 1st birtday a coupla months
ago! Basically, the HJC has proven cheap and a bit nasty.

Enter Shark. Had a look at one today and seems have all the good gear I'm
after (comfort, fit, ventilation, good visor change mechanism, my glasses
fit in nicely etc) and is well priced at a smidge under $400. So how about
it? Are Shark generally better than HJC for the same money? I try to buy
a new helmet every 2 years or so, (fashion drone, obviously) so I was
thinking about an early Christmas pressy seeing as Mr Costello is giving me
some money after charging me too much tax.

i like my shark helmet. im on my second one.
having said that though it does fog up very quick and after about 12months
the visor lifts up doing head checks above 90kmh.
other than that there great IMO.

picked up a 2001 rsv from the peter stevens sale a couple of weeks
ago....must say that i am impressed with the after sales service as they
hunted down a new bit for it after the cover fell off one of the air
    instakes....
anyway, so far after only having the lid for only two weeks I can say that
it is okay although as with all helmets you can never know what the wind
factor will be like trying the thing on in a shop, and with this helmet the
noise is a little bit louder than with my old agv....
it will be interesting to see how it goes on a long ride as it is a
completely different feel to the agv....lighter but more comfortable...

    cheers

I have an RSF2, ventilation is very poor, would explain why it fogs up. I
have to leave the visor open a smidgen even in summer just to have some air
    flow into the helmet.

The standard visor is not too bad, but the tinted visor I bought whistles
like an old man on the front verandah. But overall I'd say the RSF2 is a
noisier helmet than my old Shoe RF900(?)
