  1. The City of Plano is still considering the "Share the Road" signs. The
Transportation Advisory Committee is holding a public hearing on December
9th regarding "Share the Road" programs.

If a large city like Plano goes ahead with the signs (and any other
awareness program) it will be much easier for the motorcycle community to
influence other cities to follow the same path.
Please attend this hearing. It could make a difference for all Riders.

    SHARE THE ROAD PROGRAM

    sponsored by the

    TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC)

To Discuss Issues and Ideas Relating to the Mixed Use of Transportation
Facilities for Bicycles, Motorcycles and Motorized Vehicles

    December 9, 2004 - 7:30 PM
    PLANO MUNICIPAL CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBER
    1520 K AVENUE

A public meeting will be held to discuss the development of a Share the Road
program for the City of Plano. The concept for the Share the Road program
involves raising awareness and safety for both drivers and cyclists and
teaching them to share the road among mixed transportation modes,
specifically targeted towards motorized vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles.
The Transportation Advisory Committee is seeking input from residents,
bicycle groups, motorcycle groups and other interested parties regarding
what this program should include in the way of education, facilities, or
other solutions. For more information please contact Tracy Nyholm, PE, of
the Transportation Engineering Division at 972-941-7151.
