    What a very odd feeling!

I got hit by the wall in my shower and almost fell over then the power
    went off.

House and Car alarms were going off and everything. Poppy dog also
    barked.

Power is back on now. Drama.

Aren't they just. I've experienced two in my time. The first was in
Wales when staying in the cottage/petrol station my parents owned at
the time. It was bad enough to make a big chunk of forecourt fall into
    the stream that ran underneath.

The second was in a hotel just outside Valencia, & much worse. Full-on
wall shaking, building-crumbling stuff. That was the year it pissed it
down for the GP & Biaggi fell off on the 1st corner on the warm-up lap.
My how we laughed. The 125 race was possibly the best ever.

There doesn't appear to be any damage locally. It was just a movement
that caused me to bash my face into the wall while standing in the
shower. I didn't quite understand what it was but after about five
seconds of thinking decided it was some kind of earth tremor as I
couldn't explain it any other way, especially as I ran out of
electricity. I then got out of the shower and removed soap from
    myself :)

I visited Hythe and there were plenty of bleary eyed people walking
around not shopping as all of the shops were closed with electric
tills. A trip to Folkestone was the same with businesses evacuated, a
few tiles smashed on the pavement which had fallen from roofs and a
chimney or two looking unhappy which had suffered gravity damage.
I'm not sure what I'd do in a full blown earthquake. We don't have
them often around here (although Saltwood Castle suffered damage when
a few of the walls collapsed a couple of hundred years ago during an
earthuake) so I'm not repaired. But a huge shakey thing would leave
    me totally godsmacked.

Dunno. The beeb said that Eurostar services were unaffected this
morning, so I imagine that all is well.
