Crept out of the house real early this morning.. before the heat caught
me.. Good day to get the Green Vulcan on the road for a little business,
after all that valve adjustment and stuff..

I took the Loop 12 and 408 out to IH 20 and headed west .. Sure was a nice
time of day to just let my motorcycle run.. Before the rush hour traffic
caught me, I did one of the smaller highways that would pass me through
Mansfield and on across to Grandview..

That was a good place to top off the tank and eat breakfast, so I took my
break.. So far, so good.. The Green Vulcan was performing like a youngster,
just off the showroom floor.. We'd topped 100 mph a couple of times and that
little bike was running like one of the muscle bikes .. strong, fast and
    responsive..

After a good breakfast and coffee, I began to make the big circle back to
civilization and noticed that down shifting had become less frequent.. There
was no discernable clatter coming from the engine when it was under
compression.. hmmm.. I should have adjusted those valves a long time ago..

By ten thirty AM, we were back at LaCasa .. The temperatures were rising
pretty fast and we got into the A/C just in time, I think.. The only thing
left to do before we are ready for the next road trip will be to give the
Green One a good cleaning up with fresh oil and a filter.. That's the way I
    like it.. Regards..

Nothing like it when the motor purrs and runs with determination. Glad
you are feeling good about the ol' Green one.
    Thanks for sharing, pard. bjk~

I don't recall being invited, so I invite myself and the Mouse.

hmmm.. Could be. lol That sucker was talking to me, even when I just
loafed along, doing the downshifting deal..
    What'd you think ?
I gotta admit, I didn't .. I'm considering the belt conversion kit for the
Green One and was trying to imagine the difference it might make in
performance of the little Vulcan.. The cost is a little prohibitive (around
five hundred, I'm told) and I'm not sure that it would be that much of an
increase in advantages.. Still thinking about it though...
Corinna hasn't checked in, yet.. I've offered to send her the money for the
bus ticket from Guadalajara to Matamoros.. Edwin is excited about us coming
to his house for a visit.. Also, he wants to be our host at the club that he
runs .. Should be quite an experience, since he's one of the best hosts I've
    ever seen..
I haven't talked to Waco nor Mouse for a while.. Planning on doing that in
the next few days.. Of course, I'd assume that Waco is reading these last
few posts and will be ready to make the ride .. especially since he reported
the ride to the east coast, in the past few days.. Here's hoping we'll be
graced with their company on this ride..Regards
