Crept out of the house real early this morning.. before the heat caught me.. Good day to get the Green Vulcan on the road for a little business, after all that valve adjustment and stuff.. I took the Loop 12 and 408 out to IH 20 and headed west .. Sure was a nice time of day to just let my motorcycle run.. Before the rush hour traffic caught me, I did one of the smaller highways that would pass me through Mansfield and on across to Grandview.. That was a good place to top off the tank and eat breakfast, so I took my break.. So far, so good.. The Green Vulcan was performing like a youngster, just off the showroom floor.. We'd topped 100 mph a couple of times and that little bike was running like one of the muscle bikes .. strong, fast and responsive.. After a good breakfast and coffee, I began to make the big circle back to civilization and noticed that down shifting had become less frequent.. There was no discernable clatter coming from the engine when it was under compression.. hmmm.. I should have adjusted those valves a long time ago.. By ten thirty AM, we were back at LaCasa .. The temperatures were rising pretty fast and we got into the A/C just in time, I think.. The only thing left to do before we are ready for the next road trip will be to give the Green One a good cleaning up with fresh oil and a filter.. That's the way I like it.. Regards..
