several miles of gravel...

  1. hey, found out last night the hard way, there are 3+ miles of fresh gravel
on a stretch of lower Eureka Canyon Rd (above Corralitos in south Santa
Cruz County)... Caveat Emptor. Ride it very gingerly, you hit a thick
spot of this when on even a slow turn and my bike slides all over the
    place.

Oh, and Mt Madonna Rd is totally peagraveled. And a stretch of Casserly
over by the nursery near the Salsipuedes Fire station...

so much for a fun zip thru the hills of the south county after work last
    night, sigh...

Dang! What a nuisance. What are they doing, trying to get a jump on
    filling in potholes come winter?

Maybe somebody's having a special sale on peagravel and tar

Redwood Road got the "treatment" between Pinhurst and Skyline sometime
in the last few days. It looks like preparations are under way to do
the rest of Redwood and the part of Pinehurst in Alameda County.

The odd thing is that these roads were all chipsealed about two years
ago and the pavement does not seem all that bad.
