Do not carry a big block of dope in your boogie board bag.

Avoid bars with vans full of explosives parked out the front.

When she says she's clean, don't believe her.

It's a good tip wherever you go, van with explosives out the front, give it
    a miss.

I've only been there for the motoGP a couple of times. The crowds for
F1 might be a fair bit bigger.

See the course on Google Earth at 2°45'37.46"N 101°44'10.75"E

The V-shaped building in the centre is a double-sided grandstand that
    splits the course.

The double sided grandstand is a good place to be. I like to have a
seat on the back straight, because you see more of the action there.
You can always scoot across to the front straight for the start/finish.

Unfortunately, the design of Sepang is such that the tall pit/VIP
building and a small mountain block the view of most of the front half
of the course from the main grandstand, but there are great views of the
    back part.

There are some other grandstands on the outside of the course that seem
popular, and may give a closer view of some parts of the track.

There is cold beer and pretty edible food available on the course.

Bingo! It's amazing just how good Google Earth is for this sort of thing.

    You're not doing it right.

If you just cut and paste the coordinates (2°45'37.46"N 101°44'10.75"E)
into the search box in google earth, it zooms right in.
